Technological Advance

I think that the story presents technological advance as negative. I believe this becuase of the evidence in the story about the struggles between the buggers and the humans referred to as Astronauts.

I believe that the technological advance has lead to the introduction of this enemy known as buggers. There is evidence in the book that these distant beings have been discovered becuase of a space war which wouldn't have been possible without advancements in technology. Also another negative technological advancement is the introduction of battle school for young children. This technology called monitors which allow military commanders to monitor children at young ages to see whether they are fit and able to in the future become a successful military commander.

All of these advancements in technology resulted into the unnecessary military training of children and the non existent threat of buggers.Humans have a lot to do with these problems becuase all of this technology have been used by other humans to take advantage of other people which in Ender's case can have a negative impact on the young childrens lives. For example on page 27 we can see evidence of information about Ender through the dialogue of the two military men that use dramatic irony which allows the reader to understand what is going to happen to Ender which ends being very cruel and negative.
