Chapter 6 Enders Game

1. What is happening to Ender’s launch group? And what role is Ender playing?
2. Ender gives the special suit a trial. It makes him able to do things that he couldn’t normally do.
3. How do Bernard and Alai move in the suits?
4. Ender makes a connection with Alai.
5. What role is Alai voted in to? What role does he now play for the group?
6. Describe the sequence of events when Ender plays the game. What is revealed to Ender and about his personality at the conclusion of the game?

Answers:

1)      Enders Launch group had changed once they had their first time in the battle room. Ender had joined the group with the person he was enemies with Bernard. And Bernard’s best friend Alia had become Enders new friend. Ender isn’t in any leadership roles since he didn’t want to annoy Bernard.

2)      Ender discovered the different techniques when in the battle room and he discovers how to move and change direction in the different gravity zone. Also Ender discovers the gun and Alai, Bernard, Shen and Ender make a group and freeze all the other boys.

3)      Bernard and Alai move clumsily in the suits and aren’t able to control themselves when trying to move around.

4)      Ender befriends Alai and they become good friends.

5)      Alai plays the role of the bridge between groups this allows Ender to be able to interact between groups.

6)      When Ender is playing he discovers that the game is rigged and no matter what drink he takes he will die so on his last turn he kicks over both the shot glasses and claws away chunks of the giant’s eyes and goes into the giant through his eye. At the conclsion of killing the giant Ender logs off the game and tells himself I didn’t mean to kill the giant peter ought to be pound. We can infer that Ender is convincing himself that he isn’t so different from Peter than he once thought.
